

The Practical Chef - At Home Cooking Classes and Cooking Parties
I came up with the Practical Chef idea by listening to people who had taken cooking classes and really enjoyed them. But when they got home they had problems making the recipes they had learned in class. I also observed that many times you see cooking shows, or take a cooking class that teach you how to prepare a dish and they use all this top of the line equipment you may or may not have. Most of the time if you don’t have those pots pans or equipment; you do have something in your own kitchen that works without spending extra money!
So I thought, why not teach people how to cook in their own homes, using their appliances and their pots and pans, knives,etc. This gives the client the opportunity to do what they want to do in the comfort of their own kitchens.
All classes are personalized and have something for every level of cook. I also teach classes specifically on knife skills, meat cutting and party planning to name a few.

I hosted a shower and I wanted to do something other than the traditional games people usually play. So I decided to have a cooking lesson for the group. The “hands-on” approach makes it a lot more fun than watching someone prepare a meal – you can do that on the Food Network. Chef Craig was great!
